About Intelligence Bureau IB
The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is the oldest intelligence agency in Pakistan, and it works under the Prime Minister. Its main job is to collect and analyze information about the security and interests of Pakistan. It also tries to stop foreign spies and terrorists from harming Pakistan.
The IB was created in 1947 when Pakistan became independent from Britain. Before that, it was part of the British Intelligence Bureau, which was set up in 1885 to watch over the Russian activities in Afghanistan.
